Saint Bernard Mission School is a part of the Catholic Indian Mission
located in Fort Yates, ND.
It is an officially sponsored
mission
of the Bismarck Diocese.
Over the past five years, Saint Bernard Mission School graduates have
achieved a 90% high school graduation rate.
(The
Standing Rock Reservation graduation rate is 65% reservation-wide.)
Saint Bernard Mission School graduates normally make up approximately
one half of the honor students at the Junior High
and
High School. Our students generally make up 20 to 25% of a class.
In the past six
years, the class valedictorians or salutatorians from area high
schools have been Saint Bernard Mission School graduates.
Saint Bernard Mission School graduates are actively involved in school
activities — sports teams, band, choir, student
leadership,
etc.
Graduates of Saint Bernard Mission School continue to be contributing
members of the community, employed in all areas
of
service.
Many of the leaders of the community are graduates of our school.
